Late Submission

Carriers will accept enrollment documents the day before your requested enrollment date, however is it recommended the required enrollment/renewal paperwork be submitted 2 weeks before renewal or enrollment in order to avoid any delays.

What Could Happen?
Typically, carries can take up to 5 days to approve your enrollment request, sometime longer.  ID cards takes up to 7 days to be mailed and recieved, so delays are expected when you submit late or close to your request effective date.  Expect more delays during carrier busy season, Open Enrollment.

It is important to get the Approval before your requested effective date or renewal.  Sometimes, your request to enroll or renew may not be approved until after your requested Effective date.

In some cases, you may find out after your requested Effective date that there are issues.  It our attempt is to avoid the worst-case scenario....being denied after the requested effective date, leaving you without insurance.

Late Submission may result in:

  • Delay of coverage
  • Waiting day or weeks to be approved
  • Not having an updated Invoice
  • Not having your ID number
  • Not having your ID cards
  • Delayed access to medications, doctors’ appointments or needed services
  • Not having coverage

When You Submit late, it is recommended you:

  • fill any Prescriptions that you will need for the upcoming month.
  • inform your doctor of possible delayed approval.
  • pre-authorized surgeries/testing with the new carrier.
