SHOP and Small Business Taxes
If your small business was enrolled in Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) coverage, you may need some tax-related
information about your health insurance. For each year you have SHOP coverage, you’ll receive a Tax Form 1095-B that reports the type of coverage you had, dependents covered by
your insurance policy, and the period of coverage. This form is generated by insurance companies that offer SHOP coverage. If you need the form, or have questions about it:
SHOP does not generate or distribute Tax Form 1095-B to consumers enrolled in SHOP coverage, carriers do. Employers should
keep a record of all tax documents and SHOP payment information for each year of their SHOP coverage.
