Traditional Dental plans: 

These dental plans are PPO plans designed to cover preventative, minor & major dental services. 

A typical PPO dental plan has:

• 100/80/50 coverage
• $1,000 carrier max
• $50 deductible for Minor/Major services.
• PPO means: the plan has both In and Out of network benefits
• Waiting periods: 6 months Minor/12 month Major  -(waived w/ prior dental)
• Premium range from :   ~$35 to ~$65+ per month

*100/80/50 coverage means:

• 100% preventative coverage, cleaning exams, 2x a year
• 80% coverage for minor services...filings
• 50% coverage for major services…crowns, bridges, implants, perio, endodontics…

Discount dental plans typically offer:

• 100% / discount / discount coverage
• No waiting periods.
• Smaller network of dentists
• No out of network benefits
• Premiums range:   ~$5 to ~$15 a month
